Zoonosis Exhibition
at Naturum, Ottenby
During july-september 2001, we organised the first exhipition to the public
regarding zoonoses and zoonotic research. During the period, Naturum received
more than 100,000 visitors! This year's exhibition had three
themes:
What is zoonoses?
The Swedish Zoonosis Center, National Veterinary Institute, presented
general information about zoonoses in the format of a poster and a
comprehensive pamphlet in Swedish, describing the most common zoonoses in
Scandinavia. The pamphlet can be downloaded in PDF-format or a printed
version ordered from the Swedish
Zoonosis Centre.
Tick-Borne Infections
Three posters explaining the life cycle of ticks, tick-borne infections common in Sweden, and the prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of those infections.

Members of the Society for Zoonotic Ecology and Epidemiology are
welcome to borrow this exhibition for local display. Non-members are
welcome to rent the exhibition, or to buy mounted and laminated print-outs
(format 80 x 120 cm). For further information, please contact the

Campylobacter in Wild Birds
A poster presenting an ongoing research project in collaboration with the Ottenby Bird Observatory regarding the rôle of wild birds in the distribution of Campylobacter jejuni.
