The society's purpose is to work for the further education of its members,
to expand their experiences and facilitate the exchange of information
concerning zoonoses and other infectious diseases in the animal world,
their ecology and epidemiology, as well as evolutionary aspects of
infectious organisms, their reservoirs and vectors. The society will
stimulate crossdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, and work for
the establishment and development of meeting places and facilities for
research concerning the ecology and epidemiology of zoonoses.
