10th International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and other Tick-Borne Diseases, Sept 11-15, 2005.
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 10th International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and other Tick-Borne Diseases (ICLB2005), which will be held in Vienna, 11-15 September 2005.
It is a great honour to organise the 10th ICLB2005 in Vienna and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the discovery of Lyme arthritis. It is also the 20th anniversary of the first conference on this topic, which was held in Vienna in 1985. Since then, there has been a growing number of scientists and clinicians who share a common interest in the complexity of tick-borne diseases globally.
The programme of the ICLB2005 will reflect the interconnections between human beings, vectors, and microbes and the progress that has been made in the basic understanding of these interactions. The programme will cover the key topics and latest findings in basic research, laboratory and clinical aspects of the diseases, prevention and therapy, being addressed from a truly interdisciplinary perspective.
I am looking forward to welcoming you here to enjoy the rich cultural fabric of Vienna, a unique city in the heart of Europe, and to experience a scientifically rewarding and personally enriching meeting.
On behalf of the Organising and Scientific Committees
Gerold Stanek / Conference Chair
